Project Description
volerGROUP provided surveying and mapping services in support of basin engineering studies and stormwater drainage inventory efforts for Geosyntec Consultants on behalf of Seminole County. The project focused on documenting existing drainage infrastructure within the Lake Jesup Basin to support hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, asset management, and future stormwater planning initiatives.
Our team performed a comprehensive inventory of stormwater structures at locations identified by the client, collecting survey-grade horizontal and vertical data for culverts, storm pipes, control structures, and canal cross-sections. Field crews also prepared detailed structure sketches and field notes and captured geotagged 360-degree photography to provide a complete visual record of existing conditions. All survey data was processed and delivered in Civil 3D.
To support Seminole County’s GIS and asset management systems, volerGROUP standardized the collected information for direct integration into the County’s geodatabase. Deliverables included an Excel-based geodatabase formatted in accordance with Seminole County standards, along with the associated survey data, structure documentation, and imagery. In total, the project included the survey and documentation of 160 culverts and pipes and 88 canal cross-sections. The project was successfully completed in August 2024.
