Creative Village Development
Project Description
The Creative Village redevelopment transformed the former Amway Arena site in Downtown Orlando into a 47-acre, mixed-use, transit-oriented urban infill community through a public-private partnership between the City of Orlando and Creative Village Development, LLC, a joint venture of Ustler Development, Inc. and Bank of America Community Development Corporation (BACDC). The development included the realignment and extension of West Livingston Street and North Terry Avenue, abandonment of Ronald Blocker Avenue, right-of-way replats, construction of a central park, major infrastructure and stormwater improvements, and the development of educational, commercial, and high-rise student housing facilities.
volerGROUP provided comprehensive surveying and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) services throughout the 47-acre development, including the Bob Carr Theater, Orlando Tennis Centre, and approximately 7,000 linear feet of roadway. Services included master planning support, establishment of survey control, boundary and topographic surveys, tree inventories, apparent right-of-way mapping, title research, final plat preparation, Quality Level B utility designation, Quality Level A test hole investigations, sketch and legal descriptions, construction layout, and as-built surveys.
Throughout the multi-year development, volerGROUP successfully supported numerous owners, developers, engineers, and contractors, including Ustler Development, the City of Orlando, Development Ventures Group, Mill Creek Residential, The Allen Morris Company, Balfour Beatty Construction, DRMP, JCB Construction, Mack Contracting, and Sentry Management, providing consistent, high quality surveying and SUE services across multiple phases of the project.
