Big Wekiva River Watershed Asset Inventory
Project Description
volerGROUP provided professional surveying and mapping services to CDM Smith in support of Orange County’s ongoing effort to expand and enhance its stormwater structure inventory database. The project covered a significant portion of the Big Wekiva River Watershed, extending from SR 408 north through Apopka to the Orange County line.
Our field teams collected accurate horizontal and vertical survey data for culverts, pipes, control structures, and other stormwater assets identified by the client. To provide additional flexibility and support the County’s asset management needs, volerGROUP also collected supplemental RTK GNSS data for a secondary dataset.
Each structure was thoroughly documented through detailed field sketches, notes, and geotagged 360-degree photography, creating a comprehensive and visually verifiable record of existing conditions. The completed deliverables provided CDM Smith and Orange County with reliable, field-verified information to strengthen the County’s stormwater infrastructure database and support future planning, maintenance, and engineering efforts.
